- The mailing lists hosted here are public forums and all information on these lists is publicly available.
- By posting to any of these mailing lists, you agree to public distribution of your message. All mails sent to these lists will be publicly distributed and archived, for people to browse or search without the need to be subscribed.
- You warrant and represent that you own the copyright to any posted material, have received permission from the copyright owner, or that the material is in the public domain. You warrant and represent that you have the full and unencumbered right to post such material and that such posting will not infringe any rights or interests of others.
- The mailing list operators accept no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on these mailings lists. All warranties with regard to information posted on its mailing lists is disclaimed, whether posted by the site operators or others; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall the list operators be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages, or damages of any kind whatsoever, resulting from loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use of any information posted on any of these mailing lists.
- These mailing lists are not actively monitored for inappropriate postings, and no editorial control of postings is undertaken. Abuse reports will be handled on a best-effort basis.
- The mailing list operators reserve the right to prevent posting to any mailing list or remove (part of) posts in the event of failure to comply with the mailing list code of conduct or suspicion that some rights are infringed.
- Where moderation of mailing lists posts is employed this is done on a best-effort basis and does not consitute approval of the message or in any way limit the disclaimers above.
- Some SPAM and virus filtering is applied to emails to these mailing lists but false positives and negatives are known to occur.
- The public archives employ some measures to obfuscate email addresses from automated crawlers but this method is not foolproof.
- The list of email addresses that have been subscribed to the list will not be published, sold or otherwise be made available to third parties and will be kept confiential. The information entered will only be used to send emails through the mailing list. Note that not all email communication between the subscriber and this server is encrypted and is suceptible to interception.
Code of conduct
When using any of the mailing lists on this server, please follow these rules:
- Do not send SPAM.
- Send all of your e-mails in English.
- Do not use offensive language and try to be polite.
- Make sure that you are using the proper list.
- Do not cross-post to a lot of unrelated mailinglists unless the topic somehow involves all those lists (and then even think twice).
- Send plain-text email wrapped at 80 characters or less (any debugging information does not need to be wrapped through). Do not send HTML mail.
- When replying to messages on the mailing list, try to avoid sending a carbon copy (Cc) to the original poster unless they requested to be copied.
- Avoid sending large attachments.
- Do not send automated out-of-office or vacation messages, challange-response, anti-SPAM or anti-Virus emails.
- Do not send subscription or unsubscription requests to the list address itself; use the respective -subscribe or -unsubscribe address.
- When sending replies, please quote only relevant parts of the original message and put your replies inline (please don't top-post).
- Use your common sense.
