Thanks for the backtrace. The problem was in the expression parser of
nslcd that didn't correctly handle undefined variables. This has been
fixed in development and will also be fixed in the next releases.
For 0.7.13 you should avoid using $fqdn in pam_authz_search. That should
at least avoid the segmentation fault.
