pam_login_attribute missing from nss-pam-ldapd

Here at Virginia Tech, we have an LDAP server that in past configurations of pam_ldap needed the following line set in /etc/pam_ldap.conf or /etc/ldap.conf (depending on age of software and distribution):
pam_login_attribute uupid

Adding this to the /etc/nslcd.conf file results in an error on starting the nslcd daemon:
/etc/nslcd.conf:148: unknown keyword: 'pam_login_attribute'

Attempts to figure this out from documentation have led me to try without any luck in /etc/nslcd.conf:
map    passwd uid uupid

In short, is there a replacement for pam_login_attribute in version 0.8.13 (specifically the version included in CentOS 7, but this doesn't feel like a bug, so I'm asking here)?

my /etc/nslcd.conf (stripped of comments) is:

uid nslcd
gid ldap
ldap_version 3
base ou=People,dc=vt,dc=edu
ssl start_tls
tls_cacertfile /etc/openldap/cacerts/vt-cachain.pem
ssl start_tls
tls_cacertdir /etc/openldap/cacerts
map    passwd uid uupid

Thanks for any help,
j.
