Replacing spaces with underscores automatically

Hi,

I have a working configuration of nss_pam_ldapd with Arthur's support in a previous thread.

I am now trying to configure access controls on the machine, and realise that our LDAP directory with many spaces is far from ideal.

Usernames are thankfully space-free, but groups are not.

I was wondering whether as part of nslcd.conf we can somehow automatically replace spaces with underscores to make things a lot easier.

For example... "Technical Support Group" would become "Technical_Support_Group" on the machine.

Thank you in advance for letting me know whether you are familiar with any way of achieving this.
