Hi,
my ldap server is a debian (squeeze) TLS . libpam-ldapd libnss-ldapd
(0.7.15+squeeze1) on server and clients.
* getent passwd / getent group /authentication (su login gdm ...) are ok
on the client
* getent hosts (or getent -s "ldap" hosts) is ok :
xxx.xx.xxx.xxx host1.mydomain host1
xxx.xx.xxx.xxx host2.mydomain host2
... all my computers are listed
BUT:
- getent hosts host2.mydomain give no response
- ssh host2
ssh: Could not resolve hostname host2.mydomain
- ping host2
ping: unknown host host2.mydomain
I started nslcd in debug mode ( su nslcd; /usr/sbin/nslcd -d ):
* getent hosts
nslcd: [072367] DEBUG: nslcd_host_all()
nslcd: [072367] DEBUG: myldap_search(base="dc=my-ldap-base",
filter="(objectClass=ipHost)")
* getent hosts hosts2
nslcd: [a64e2a] DEBUG: nslcd_host_byname(hosts2)
nslcd: myldap_search(base="dc=my-base-ldap",
filter="(&(objectClass=ipHost)(cn=host2))
have you got an idea of my problem ? ( I'm stopped for few days now!..)
Thank you in advance
Philippe
